I WANT to See my Savior face to face. THE PROPHETIC MOEDIM (Including the Yom Kippur Holiday) Keep Me In Joyful Expectation. All I think about is worshiping at his feet at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. Then it will be time to “Saddle Up” and Ride with him
There is something immensely exciting about watching and waiting expectantly for the prophetic Feasts of the Lord to unfold in both meaning and fulfillment. The word of God says that these are Holy Convocations and the Hebrew term for these appointed Feasts is, Moedim.
Learning about these Feasts and Keeping them alive in our hearts in the fashion that YeHoVaH instructed us to is an exhilarating ride of mystery, thrill, and hope in all of the work of Yeshua for our lives.
The Moedim (moe-eh-DEEM) are considered “Appointed Times.” These Moedim are erroneously called, “Jewish holidays” due to a confusion that labels all things from God to his people “Jewish.” In the Holy Torah, Tanakh, and New Testament Brit Hadasha these are God’s holy feast days. These are refereed to as appointed High Holy Days of worshiping God though feasting (in the case of the Yom Kippur holiday we fast and afflict our souls in Teshuvah repentance).
The other day a facebook friend from Doug Hamp’s Awakenning Report asked me to share the most important thing I have learned from my family’s Feast Day teaching resources that we use to celebrate Yom Kippur:
I mentioned: A Family Guide to the Biblical Holidays by Robin Samson and Linda Pierce
This was my reply:
It is the fact that The Day of Atonement is a fast day. No big surprise there. The table on page 270 brings me to tears. Jesus fasted in the wilderness and was tempted with bread. During the Fall Feasts we fast and offer bread to God. We give our hearts to God FULLY and shun bread as Yeshua did in favor of God and His Torah, Tanakh, and Brit Hadasha.“
These high holy appointed Moedim Feast Days have significance that is interwoven throughout both the Torah, Tanakh, and the Brit Hadasha New Testament. Read it all and you will find striking motifs and events that correlate directly to these High Holy Feasts of YeHoVaH. These appointed Moedim include:
- Pesakh (Passover) – Spring
- Matzah (Unleavened Bread) – Spring
- Yom Habikkurim (First Fruits) – Spring
- Shavuot (Pentecost) – Fall
- Rosh HaShannah – Fall
- Yom Kippur and Succot (Tabernacles) including a double portion of the Holy Spirit with Shemini Atzeret in Hebrew, or “the Eighth Day”.
Also, we must include the Fourth Commandment Shabbat (Sabbath) and the Yovel Year (Year of Jubilee return of property to original owners and freedom from bondage).
This description does in no way convey the full meaning and mystery of the Messianic meaning of all these appointed times. You can get a feel for the full revel-atory confirmation in the book of Revelation.
There we see the full confluence of all these prophecies culminating in the rescue and bodily redemption of the bride by her promised husband, Yeshua.
Leviticus chapter 23 gives a grouping overview of the commandment pronunciation of YeHoVaH’s Moedim. The Return of Yeshua and His Millennium will bring all of Leviticus 23 to fruition. Here I will focus on the Fall Feast of Yom Kippur and write of the Spring Feasts in the Passover Blog Post.
YOM KIPPUR Holiday – (DAY OF ATONEMENT)
In the Day of Atonement I see a national atonement where we have to be there with Yeshua wearing white linens for the cleansing in readiness to tabernacle with him.
Every year only on this day God gave an ordinance and permission for the spiritually cleansed High Priest wearing only white linen and the turban to enter past the Veil (Lev 16:1-34). Be sure to recognize the following elements:
- The Yom Kippur Holiday is a “set-apart” day
- The high priest changes garments to those of holy garments of fine clean white linen rather than the ornate and elaborate priestly garment which includes the stone studded breastplate
- All members of the Commonwealth of Israel are to meet at the Temple and be in attendance having changed wearing fine clean white linen in like manner to that of the high priest. These attendees were alerted to whiten their garments by the trumpets of Yom Teruah
- The Day of Atonement is a day heralded with the blood of a bull and one goat cast by lots in blood atonement (coverings)
- Conversely, a second goat has all of the sins of the nation placed on its head (scapegoat named Azazel, Strong’s H5799 – `aza’zel: עֲזָאזֵל) making atonement (coverings), with changing garments, putting on fine white linen & washing of garments
- Hebrews 10:1-18 shows us how Yeshua fulfilled all the animal sacrifices
- I repeat the picture caption:
Yeshua is Our High Priest This Yom Kippur Holiday in the Heavenly Holy Place. Hebrews 9:12-24 and 10:19-20 give us confidence in this fact!”
Leviticus 16:8-10 & 16:26-34 explain the importance of the Yom Kippur sacrifices and the Scapegoat:
8 And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats; one lot for the Lord, and the other lot for the scapegoat.
9 And Aaron shall bring the goat upon which the Lord‘s lot fell, and offer him for a sin offering.
10 But the goat, on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the Lord, to make an atonement with him, and to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness.“
26 And he that let go the goat for the scapegoat shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward come into the camp.
27 And the bullock for the sin offering, and the goat for the sin offering, whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the holy place, shall one carry forth without the camp; and they shall burn in the fire their skins, and their flesh, and their dung.
28 And he that burneth them shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp.
29 And this shall be a statute for ever unto you: that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye shall afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger that sojourneth among you:
30 For on that day shall the priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that ye may be clean from all your sins before the Lord.
31 It shall be a sabbath of rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls, by a statute for ever.
32 And the priest, whom he shall anoint, and whom he shall consecrate to minister in the priest’s office in his father’s stead, shall make the atonement, and shall put on the linen clothes, even the holy garments:
33 And he shall make an atonement for the holy sanctuary, and he shall make an atonement for the tabernacle of the congregation, and for the altar, and he shall make an atonement for the priests, and for all the people of the congregation.
34 And this shall be an everlasting statute unto you, to make an atonement for the children of Israel for all their sins once a year. And he did as the Lord commanded Moses.“
In Revelation 3:1-5 we see that Yeshua admonishes the saints in Sardis to watch and pray and to do likewise with that of the Yom Kippur Holiday:
3 And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.
2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.
3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
4 Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.
5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
6 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.”
In Revelation 19-21 we see the opening of the Veil between God in timelessness to us. Yeshua is ready in vengeance for the Day of the Lord. His people in time and space have now been made in Yeshua’s full image to ride with him to establish the Millennium, (we wear white linens) Yeshua provided his blood in the Holy of Hollies to make atonement for all the souls of God’s people.
In Revelation 19:11-13 we see that Yeshua is wearing a garment drenched in blood when making fierce reckoning for all the ungodly deeds of those who have unrighteously rejected his offer of salvation
11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.“
In Revelation 7:9-14 we are given a look from a 3rd Heaven perspective of the multitudes of nations that follow the Holy Guard of Elite Hebrew Saints of the Later Rain Portion, 144,000 redeemed of Israel over all the earth
9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.
11 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,
12 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.
13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.“
